Drift Banking — The Ledger
The Ledger is the Nexus bank: one account per pilot, accessible through The Ledger tab when docked at Node #1. Anyone can deposit and withdraw — no account to "open", no rep gate at the door. What your reputation controls is the interest rate.
Interest Rates
Interest accrues every clock hour on your Ledger balance, whether you're online or not. Your rate depends on your reputation at the moment the hour ticks:

The rogue rate is low by design — what a rogue is buying is isolation: credits in the Ledger are outside the reach of port raids, combat outcomes, and anything else that touches your ship's wallet. A rogue building toward a Heretic hull doesn't lose that stack while raiding.
The Accord rate is real money over a cycle. A Good Standing pilot who lodges 10,000 credits at the start of an epoch recovers roughly 700 credits in yield by reset — comparable to a solid trade run, without spending turns.
High-Security mode (toggle in The Ledger tab) halves your rate in exchange for shielding your balance from heists.
Deposits and Withdrawals
- Deposit — move credits from your wallet to the Ledger. Minimum 100 credits. Must be at the Nexus.
- Withdraw — pull any amount back to your wallet. Must be at the Nexus. Withdrawals are trimmed to your wallet's rank-tier credit cap — the response tells you how much actually moved.
The Ledger Cap
Accounts are capped at 10,000,000⬡. Deposits and wires that would push your balance over the cap are refused up front, with the exact amount that still fits. A balance at the cap simply stops earning interest — it is never reduced.
Rules
- Cycle-end reset. At cycle end, Ledger balances are zeroed along with wallets — every cycle is a fresh race. Spend or invest before the reset lands.
- No transfers. Credits cannot move between players through banking.
- Epoch notifications. At each reset, the system sends an activity notification showing total yield earned and current balance. Check the Activity Log.
Nexus Ledger Wire (deposit only)
You can deposit credits into your Ledger from anywhere in the galaxy using the Nexus Ledger Wire, accessible via Command > Ship.
A 10% fee is burned on every wire transfer — only the net amount lands in your account. Minimum wire amount is 100 credits. Wire transfers are deposit only; to withdraw you must travel to the Nexus.
Why Use Banking
Rogue pilots use the Ledger for capital protection. Credits in the bank cannot be lost to combat or raiding. A deep rogue grinding toward a Heretic hull can stash savings across multiple epochs without risking them on every fight.
Accord pilots use it for compounding. ~7% per epoch is real money over a cycle. A Good Standing pilot with 50,000 credits lodged earns roughly 3,500 credits per epoch purely passively — no turns, no movement, no risk.
Neither use replaces active play. Both reward players who plan more than one turn ahead.
