Overview
The Drifter is where every pilot begins. Functional and nothing more — it holds 50 units of cargo, carries 10,000 drones, and moves at standard speed. On the Accord path, the Drifter is your first step toward commission standing. Every clean trade logged from this hull builds the reputation that will eventually carry you to Leviathan status.
You will feel its limitations after two or three sessions. That's by design. The Drifter teaches you the galaxy's rhythms before you have enough credits to make meaningful upgrade decisions.
Playstyle
The Drifter's low hold capacity is its binding constraint early. You'll be making multiple trips where a Hauler would make one. Use those extra trips to learn new nodes rather than repeating the same route. Every node you chart now is intelligence you'll use later.
On the Accord path, stay clean. Port raids and PvP attacks in this hull are a trap — the short-term gain is outweighed by the reputation cost that slows your climb toward commission standing.
Shipyard
| Purchase Price | 1,000 credits |
| Trade-in Value | 500 credits |
The Drifter costs 1,000 credits. Every pilot starts with one equipped and paid for — the starting credit grant covers it.
Destruction
If your Drifter is destroyed, your ship persists into the next cycle (credits/ship carry over per SS20); at this stage losses are minimal. Credits are unaffected. Your deployed drones remain at their nodes.
In a Drifter the loss is minimal. Take the lesson and move on.
